Desktop client
The client runs in the background and keeps a connection open to Uncut so changes arrive within seconds.
Choose what syncs to this machine
Open the client, select a share and choose Folders. Untick anything this machine does not need. Unticked folders stay in Uncut and on other machines, and are removed from this disk.
Limit bandwidth
In Settings, open Network. Set separate limits for upload and download, and a schedule if you want full speed only at night. Limits apply to this machine only.
Status icons
| Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solid | Everything on this machine matches Uncut |
| Moving bar | Uploading or downloading. Click to see each file and the time remaining |
| Pause | Sync is paused by you or by a bandwidth schedule |
| Warning | A file could not sync. Click for the file name and the reason |
| Hollow | No connection. Work continues locally and syncs when you are back online |
Files that do not sync
Temporary and lock files are skipped, including .tmp, ~$* and .DS_Store. Add your own patterns in Settings under Ignored files.
