API keys
Each share is available as a bucket through an S3-compatible API. A key decides which shares a tool can reach.
Create a key
- In the web app, open Settings and choose API keys.
- Choose New key and give it a name that says where it will be used.
- Pick the shares it can reach, and tick Read only if the tool should not change files.
- Copy the access key, the secret and the endpoint address. The secret is shown once.
What works
| Supported | List, get, put, delete, copy, multipart upload, range requests, presigned URLs |
|---|---|
| Not supported | Bucket policies, object lock, lifecycle rules, website hosting |
| Largest object | 5 TB, in parts of up to 5 GB |
| Request limit | 500 requests a second per key |
Files written through the API
They appear in the share and sync to every machine like any other change. Nightly backup covers them too.
Remove a key
Open API keys, select the key and choose Remove. Tools using it are refused on their next request.
